    TEXT: Isaiah 1:19-20

    Memory Verse:     "If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the best from the Land but if you resist and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword- Isaiah 1:19-20(NIV)"

    INTRODUCTION:
    Obedience has enviable and lasting rewards and on the other hand disobedience has it¡¯s horrible and dreaded consequences. The case of king Saul which we studied last week serves as a good lesson to those who presumptuously live in disrespect to Gods word and the spiritual authority over them.

    To those who are willing and determined to eat the best from their land of milk and money, obedience is the only meal ticket.

    Study:

  • How are we supposed to obey? Ephesians 6:5-7
  • In how many things are we supposed to obey? Titus 2:9-10,2Cor 2:9, Col 3:20
  • In what ways can we learn obedience through what we suffer? Heb 5:8
  • Discuss Heb 13:17
  • When our obedience is fulfilled spiritual warfare becomes easier. 2Cor 10:5-6

    CONCLUSION:
    Obedience must come from our hearts. It should be exhibited with respect, fear and sincerity of heart just as we would obey Christ. We are not to obey only when people are looking at us but like slaves of Christ always doing the will of God from the heart and receiving the blessings that follow ¡°See I set before you today a blessing and a curse; the blessings if you obey¡­the curse if you disobey¡­¡±Deut 11:26-28
    May the Lord help us to be his obedient children in Jesus name. Amen?
