TURNING TO THE LORD
"There is a veil over every man's heart and face which can only be
taken away when they turn to the Lord Jesus Christ.
Turning to the Lord requires a deliberate abandoning
of a man's intellectual reasoning and turning to him by
faith for without faith it is impossible to please God"
ow it was so, when Moses came down from Mount Sinai
(and the two tablets of the Testimony were in Moses' hand when he came
down from the mountain), that Moses did not know that the skin of
his face shone while he talked with Him.
So when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold,
the skin of his face shone, they were afraid to come near him.
Then Moses called to them, and Aaron and all the rulers of
the congregation returned to him; and Moses talked with them.
Afterward all the children of Israel came near and he gave them
as commandment all that the Lord had spoken with him on Mount Sinai.
And when Moses had finished speaking with them, he put a veil on
his face. But whenever Moses went in before the Lord to speak with Him,
he would take the veil off until he came out;
and he would come out and speak to the children of Israel whatever
he had been commanded.
And whenever the children of Israel saw the face of Moses,
that the skin of Moses' face shone, and then Moses would put the veil
on his face again, until he went in to speak with him.
Exodus34:29-35 (NKJV)
Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold;
we are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to keep
the Israelites from gazing at it, while the radiance was fading away.
But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains
when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in
Christ is it taken away. Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil
covers their hearts. But when any one turns to the Lord, the veil is
taken away.
Now the Lord is the spirit, and where the spirit of the Lord is,
there is freedom, and we, who with unveiled faces all reflect
the Lord's glory, are being transformed into His likeness with
ever in creating glory, which come from the Lord who is the spirit.
2Corinthians 3:12-18 (NIV)
WHAT IS A VEIL?
A veil is an obstruction to clear vision. It is something that
covers one's eyes from seeing and one's face from shinning.
A veil is that which covers the beauty and glory of God in a man's
life. It is that which when it covers us, we may hear but not
understand neither what God says nor where He leads. A veil is that
which plunges a man into obscurity leaving him in confusion and dilemma,
physical, spiritual and economic stagnation.
When a man is under a veil he cannot undergo a process of
transformation for those who transform, do so with an open face.
The bible says in 2Cor3:18 but we all, with open face beholding as
in a glass the glory of the Lord are changed into the same image from
glory to glory even as by the spirit of the Lord.
So many people in our Churches today are not transformed, not
because the word of God they hear is not sound enough but because
they have knowingly or unknowingly refused to allow the word of God
to unmask them .When a veil is lying over a man's heart, it will be
impossible for the heart to absorb the light of God's word and to reflect
it.
God is not interested in entertaining masquerades in the Churches:
He is rather interested in unmasking or unveiling them, and changing
them into new creations to His own glory.2 Cor.5:17
A veil is that which gives a man a form of godliness but denies
the power there of. 2Tim 3:5
A veil is that which turns a religious leader into a blind guide:
the bible says if a blind man leads a blind man, two of them will fall
into a pit.Notice that it was when Moses turned to the Lord that
the veil was removed; and when he turned to the people the veil fell
back on his face.
When a spiritual leader turns to the multitude of the people and
depends on them for guidance and direction, a veil cover his face but
when he turns to the Lord the veil is removed.
Whenever we look unto men as our examples and solution to our problems
the door closes and the miracle disappears; but when we turn to the Lord
and look unto the hills from where our help comes, our help will come
from the Lord who made the heaven and the earth. Ps121:1-2.
When we turn to the arms of the flesh thinking we can make it by
power or by might, a veil covers our face, but when we look unto Jesus,
the author and finisher of our faith, the veil is removed.
David said I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right
hand I shall not be moved. Psalm 16:18.
We have to set the Lord always before our eyes and let every other
thing be seen through his face because whenever a man turns to the Lord
the veil is taken away.
The problem with man is not that he doesn't turn but that he turns to
too many things that cannot lift the veil off his heart and face.
When we turn to the catalogue of our past hurts offenses,
disappointments and failures matters become worse but when we turn
to our refuge and strength; a very present help in trouble; we will
not fear, even when it looks like the whole earth is being removed and
the mountains carried into the midst of the sea. David turned to the
Lord in distress and the Lord heard him from His holy hill. Job
turned to the Lord in his affliction and received a double fold restoration.
Ezra turned to the Lord for divine protection against the enemies's
ambush and was heard. Just to mention but few. No matter what you are
going through right now, you too could turn to the Lord and be delivered.
There is a veil over every man's heart and face which can only
be taken away when they turn to the Lord Jesus Christ. Turning to the
Lord requires a deliberate abandoning of a man's intellectual reasoning
and turning to him by faith for without faith it is impossible to
please God; and whosoever must turn to Him, must first of all believe
that He exists and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek
Him. Heb.11:6
It also means acknowledging God in all your ways for Him to direct your
steps Prov3:6, this should be an every second, minute, hour and day
by day experience.
It does not matter how many times you have turned to the Lord in the
time past and the miraculous open doors you received, I assure you that
even now if you will turn to the Lord again you will have greater open
doors for when ever a man turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.
If you have not known Jesus Christ the son of the living God as your
Lord and personal savior, a veil is still covering your heart and eyes.
It is only in Him the veil is removed. 2Cor3:12-18.
Receive Him today and blessed as you do so in the name of Jesus Christ... Amen!
