YOU ARE A CHILD OF IRREVOCABLE DESTINY
"As a child of irrevocable destiny, you can turn any situation in your life into
a meeting place with God and any challenge before you can be the gate to your open heaven"
acob left Beer-sheba and went toward Haran. He came to a certain
place and stayed there for the night, because the sun had set. Taking one of the stones
of the place, he put it under his head and lay down in that place. And he dreamed
that there was a ladder set up on the earth, the top of it reaching to heaven;
and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. And the LORD stood
beside him and said,
I am the LORD, the God of Abraham your father and the God of
Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and to your offspring; and
your offspring shall be like the dust of the earth, and you shall spread abroad
to the west and to the east and to the north and to the south; and all the
families of the earth shall be blessed in you and in your offspring. Know
that I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you
back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have
promised you.
Then Jacob woke from his sleep and said, surely the LORD
is in this place...and I did not know it!
And he was afraid, and said, how awesome this place is! This is none other
than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven. So Jacob rose
early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put under his head
and set it up for a pillar and poured oil on the top of it. He called that
place Bethel; but the name of the city was Luz at the first. Then Jacob made
a vow, saying, if God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go,
and will give me bread to eat and clothing to wear, so that I come again to
my father's house in peace, then the LORD shall be my God, and this stone,
which I have set up for a pillar, shall be God's house; and of all that you
give me I will surely give one tenth to you. Genesis 28:10-22 (RSV)
Jacob had cheated Esau out of his birth right and took all
his blessings. Esau the bible said in 27: 41 hated his brother Jacob because
of this and resolved in his heart to kill him.
The very words Esau spoke in his heart was eve dropped by the Holy
Spirit and told to Rebecca their mother who quickly called Jacob's
attention to the plot and asked him to flee to Laban her brother in Haran.
Actually when Isaac discovered that he had given the blessing to
Jacob instead of Esau who was the first born, he was not happy and so the reasonable
thing he should have done was not to continue blessing Jacob but to revoke his blessings.
If you read chapter 28:1 you will discover that Isaac had to call Jacob for the second
time and cascaded blessings on him before he embarked on that uncertain journey to
Padanaram ; you may ask why?
It is because a man of irrevocable destiny is a man of uncountable blessings and
when a man is under a divine set-up no human set-up can work against him.
WHEN A MAN IS UNDER A DIVINE SET UP
NO HUMAN SET UP CAN WORK AGAINST HIM
Jacob didn't know that he was divinely set up toward his irrevocable destiny.
He was full of fear and uncertainty as he Journeyed along the way.
He was still not sure that God would be with him and keep him
He was still not sure that God would give him bread to eat and raiment to put on.
He was not sure whether he was going to return back to his father's house in peace
or not.
Jacob left Beersheba and set out for Haran. And when he came to a certain place,
he tarried there all night, because the sun had set.
Just because you are a child of irrevocable destiny does not guarantee that there
would be no sun set along the way.
Sometimes God can allow the sun to set or a night time to come in your
Christian journey so that you would desire to apply brake and take stock of your
life and settle scores with God. Just because you are a child of irrevocable destiny
does not mean that all is well with your character, decisions, choices and judgments.
God can allow a night time to come in a Christian's life's journey so that
he can tarry all night before the Lord and wait upon the Lord because those that
wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. Isaiah 40: 31
God can allow a night time to come in a Christian's life's journey so that he
might weep because there is a time to weep and a time to laugh. Ecc; 3: 4
If you don't know what weeping looked like in the night, you may not appreciate
your joy in the morning. Psalms 30: 5
God can allow a night time to come in a Christian's life's journey so that he
could sleep and have destiny dreams. No one can have a destiny dream when they are not
at rest. Psalms 37: 3-7a
Jacob could have walked pass bethel, a place of encounter with God if Night time
hadn't come. There he had a dream with his head on top of stony pillows-using stones
for a pillow is synonymous with poverty, penury and hardship yet in the midst of all that,
he had a dream.
It is your positive spiritual attitude that determines your destiny dreams and not
your prevailing circum stances.
You can still have a dream in spite of your prevailing circumstances and with your destiny
dream God can turn your painful pillows into anointed pillars.
The bible said in vs. 18 that when Jacob arose early in the morning, he took the stones
he used as pillows and set them up as pillars and anointed them with oil.
As a child of irrevocable destiny, you can turn any situation in your life into
a meeting place with God and any challenge before you can be the gate to your open heaven.
In vs. 16-17 when he awoke out of his sleep, he said surely God is in this
place and I knew it not. He was afraid and said how dreadful this place is! This is none
other that the house of God and this is the gate of heaven.
Why? Because he had a dream in which he saw a ladder set up on the earth and it is
top reached to heaven; and the Angels were ascending and descending on it.
And the LORD stood beside him and said, I am the LORD, the God of Abraham
your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and to your
offspring; and your offspring shall be like the dust of the earth, and you shall
spread abroad to the west and to the east and to the north and to the south; and all
the families of the earth shall be blessed in you and in your offspring. Know that I am
with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I
will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.
Child of God, hear what God is saying to you right now no matter what
you are passing through, He is saying I will not leave you until I have done what I
have promised you? No power in the sky, on earth or beneath the earth can stop it from
coming to pass because you are a child of irrevocable destiny in Christ Jesus Our Lord
and savior. If you have read through this message and you are not a Christian, why not,
ask Jesus to come into your life and be your Lord and savior.
Remain blessed in Him
