READINESS TO PREACH THE GOSPEL OF PEACE
TEXTS: : Eph 6:15, Mk16:15, Matt4:9, Ezck33:8
Memory Verse:
And He said to them; "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation, who so ever believes and is baptized will be saved but who so ever does not believe will be condemned. Mark16:15 (NIV)."
INTRODUCTION:
The ancient Greek and Roman soldiers wore shoes or sandals that covered their feet and which often were fitted with nail to make the hold firm in the ground, or booths made of brass that were fitted to the legs, and designed to defend them from any danger. When they put on this armour, it showed that they were prepared and ready to advance against their enemies without even fearing slippery places.
The protection this armour affords an earthly soldier is what the preparedness or readiness to share the gospel of the peace of God with the dying world affords a Christian soldier. A born again child of God who is trained, ready and determined to win soul for Jesus Christ is wearing a spiritual booth that will bear him safe through many obstructions and trial that the devil will use to oppose him.
Study:
The Lord commanded us to witness:
- We are to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature Mark16:15
- We have to follow Jesus before He makes us fishers of men Mtt4:19
- Soul winners are made, not born. Therefore to be an effective winner you must be taught, trained and motivated by the power of the Holy Spirit Mtt4:19
- Jesus took three years to teach and train His disciples in the act of soul winning. After His resurrection He instructed them to stay in Jerusalem and wait for the promise of the father. Acts1:4-8. On the day of Pentecost, the hundred and twenty received power to witness. Any effective soul winner must be endued with power of the Holy Spirit.
- However, immediately a person is born again, he can start witnessing by inviting people to the church where they will hear the word of God and be saved. Andrew simply said to his Brother Simon ˇ°We have found the Messiahˇ± and he brought him to Jesus John1:35-42
CONCLUSION:
Every Soul winner has beautiful feet placed upon a mountain; in order wards as he evangelizes, he attracts favour and promotion from God. Isa52:7
By proclaiming the good news to unbelievers, he saves himself from their blood. Ezekiel 33:8
May God help us to begin to witness and to win souls into the Kingdom of God.
